Senior Safety Officer

URGENT REQUIRED safety officer for a metal factory, ensures a secure, compliant work environment by conducting risk assessments, enforcing PPE compliance, and managing hazards like heavy machinery, heat, welding fumes, and chemical handling. They investigate incidents, provide safety training (including hot work and lifting), and ensure compliance with local/international standards like OSHA or ISO 45001

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify hazards related to welding, forging, casting, fabrication, and overhead lifting to develop preventative measures.
• Compliance & Inspections: Perform daily/weekly inspections of tools, equipment (cranes, forklifts), and machinery to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Safety Training & Induction: Train staff on safe machinery operation, handling hazardous materials, and emergency procedures.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Emergency Preparedness: Lead fire drills, manage fire suppression systems, and oversee first aid equipment.
• PPE Management: Ensure all workers wear correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for welding, cutting, and metal handling.
• Hazardous Materials Handling: Supervise the safe storage and disposal of chemicals used in cleaning, plating, or painting metal.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience ( 2+ years) in a fabrication or metal factory environment.
• Certification: Specialized safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, IOSH).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
