Hotel Maya is seeking a passionate and driven Senior Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a strong background in group sales and a proven ability to build and maintain meaningful client relationships.
As a key member of our sales team, the Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for generating group room and F&B revenue from a variety of market segments including Corporate, SMERF, Association, Nonprofit, and Social. This position will play a vital role in expanding our client base, growing market share, and helping position Hotel Maya as Long Beach’s premier waterfront destination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively solicit new group business through outbound sales efforts, including calls, site visits, tradeshows, and networking.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key accounts and repeat clients, ensuring exceptional service and high levels of satisfaction.
- Leverage your existing network and industry contacts to drive group bookings and long-term partnerships.
- Manage the entire group sales cycle—from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation, event coordination, and rebooking.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and memorable guest experiences.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and lead progress in systems such as Delphi.fdc and Opera.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel group sales or a similar role; experience in the Long Beach/SoCal market or independent properties preferred.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term client relationships and securing repeat group business.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
- Must be a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to attend industry events, host site tours, and travel and represent Hotel Maya at off-site meetings and tradeshows.
Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
