Experienced social media professional and hands-on leader charged with overseeing and developing the agency’s social media team, client deliverables and service offerings. Oversees a team of social media coordinators as well as day-to-day management of select high-level strategic accounts. Develops social media strategies and content, driving client objectives and measurable results through a variety of social channels with high quality innovative work and a consistently superior creative product. Success in this position is evaluated based on consistent performance to established client objectives as well as the quality, creativity, and team development demonstrated.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of social media professionals, managing goals, priorities, and performance.
- Foster collaboration and creativity and provide targeted creative direction for content development
- Oversee account strategy and long-term planning for all accounts based on client’s stated business objectives.
- Monitor workload distribution, client hours, paid media budgets
- Ensure content calendars are planned and populated in a complete and timely manner
- Review and approve both organic and paid media content as appropriate by account to ensure accuracy, tone, and messaging alignment
- Oversee engagement efforts and community management ensuring both positive and negative interactions are addressed in a timely and proactive manner according to documented processes; develop engagement strategies to build reach and engagement as relevant to the platform
Strategic Account Management & Creative Content
- Lead a handful of high-level strategic accounts including direct interaction with clients where appropriate
- Provide strategic insight to develop long term plans based on client’s stated business objectives and implement those plans; display understanding of client objectives to identify account and campaign expansion opportunities where appropriate
- Collaborate with client marketing and creative team to deliver recommendations, strategies and actions; set and manage objectives for client social media accounts to ensure delivery of committed scope of work within prescribed budget and time parameters
- Create and publish relevant, original, high-quality content; curate and manage all published content including written, images and video assets
- Direct internal creative team for development of high-level creative assets as needed
- Present content and social media strategy, results and other deliverables to clients as appropriate
- Plan, oversee, implement, and optimize onsite original content creation including photo and video shoots for a variety of clients
Paid Media
- Create and manage high-quality compelling paid media campaigns to further client account objectives.
- Facilitate and manage forecasting, budgeting and pacing, campaign creation and optimization
Reporting and Analytics
- Oversee monthly performance reporting cycle for all clients and agency leadership
- Analyze key performance metrics to provide insight and recommended actions for ongoing optimization and improvement of account performance; Provide relevant and actionable insights to boost clients’ overall social media performance
- Leverage data to continuously optimize content strategy, frequency, timing, and channel mix
- Monitor developments and trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy; pursue ongoing education to stay on leading edge
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic social media marketing including team management experience; agency experience a plus
- Expert understanding of social content, community, and advertising management as well as optimization practices across all relevant social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube
- Demonstrated foundation in digital marketing strategy
- Demonstrated team leadership, client communication, and relationship building skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic actions
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to balance multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written communication skills and a sharp eye for brand voice and creative storytelling
- Experience in shooting original photo and video content onsite
- Availability for original content creation through onsite and offsite photo and video shoots as needed including occasional shoots outside of normal business hours as required by client
- Demonstrated creativity and the ability to balance creative marketing with analytical thinking
- A passion for social media marketing with a focus on elevating and energizing client and agency brands
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field
