Job Description
We are seeking a self-directed and flexible Senior Software Developer who will design and implement solutions to solve scientific problems on a variety of projects. You will work on the design, implementation, testing, and analysis of solutions to meet IAVO’s needs on projects involving technical design, development, and implementation of complex programming projects. Current projects are complex and require the use of initiative and good judgement, collaborative development, and interfacing with multiple development teams.
The ideal candidate will have advanced development skills - in C#, C++, or a data-centric langue such as Python - including experience with large data processing. You will be involved in the design and development of our next-generation algorithms for geospatial, image, and video processing, including 3D point cloud processing and video analysis. We are looking for capable and enthusiastic developers who have a passion for geospatial and image processing and want to make a difference by solving real-world problems for our customers.
Expectations:
· Collaborate with other team members to design and implement image processing data services and algorithms suitable for web-centric services
· Implement effective and efficient algorithms and data management services to support a variety of geospatial data, image, and video processing needs
· Quickly design and implement prototypes for customer demos, and iterate upon those initial implementations for final deployment
· Use best practices for software design, and rapidly incorporate feedback in prototypes and final interfaces
· Participate in all phases of the development life cycle and ensure timely delivery of demos and projects
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
· At least 5 years’ experience (or equivalent) in software development
· Demonstrated expertise in C++ and C#, or data-centric languages like Python
· Demonstrated proficiency with algorithm and data structure design and implementation
· Demonstrated proficiency with code editors, visual debugging tools, and version control systems
· Experience with both Windows and Linux environments
· A strong sense of project ownership
· Ability to flex between multiple, diverse projects over the course of a week
· Proven ability to follow project specs and deadlines
· Applicants must be willing to obtain a security clearance and will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
