Role Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the architecture and optimisation of our backend systems, with a primary focus on Edge Computing and serverless infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing scalable systems that ensure low latency and high reliability for our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edge Architecture:  Architect, maintain, and optimise complex Edge Functions using TypeScript.
• Scalability:  Design distributed backend systems capable of handling high concurrency and heavy data throughput.
• API Development:  Build and standardise robust APIs to support our grocery delivery and FMCG applications.
• Performance Engineering:  Identify bottlenecks and refactor code to minimise latency and maximise execution efficiency.
• Technical Leadership:  drive architectural decisions and enforce best practices for code quality and system reliability.

Requirements:

• TypeScript:  Expert-level proficiency in backend TypeScript development is mandatory.
• Backend Architecture:  Proven experience designing scalable, distributed systems and managing high-load environments.
• Edge Computing:  Hands-on experience with Edge runtimes (e.g., Supabase Edge Functions, Vercel Edge, AWS Lambda@Edge).
• API Design:  Strong background in architecting and scaling RESTful APIs.
• Experience:  Senior-level experience in software engineering, ideally within the Food Tech, Logistics, or E-commerce sectors.
