The Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead to serve as the principal engineer and the driving force behind our technology. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own the architecture, scalability, and code quality of our platform, while guiding and mentoring a growing team of Laravel and Next.js developers. You will be responsible for setting the gold standard for technical excellence, while actively contributing to development, reviews, and system design.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Mentorship

Provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Laravel and Next.js engineers, fostering best practices and high-quality delivery.

• Architecture & Development

Design and implement critical components including APIs, backend services, POS and payment integrations, real-time dashboards, and high-traffic web applications.

• Code Standards & Reviews

Set and uphold coding standards, perform thorough code reviews, and ensure system maintainability, optimization, and scalability.

• Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

Architect and manage AWS environments (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools while ensuring cost efficiency.

• Security & Compliance

Build with PCI DSS and fintech-grade security in mind, ensuring robust encryption, secure tokenization, and strong fraud prevention mechanisms.

• Collaboration with Founders & Product Team

Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, advise on feasibility, and shape the technical roadmap.

• Hiring & Scaling

Participate in hiring and technical interviews, helping to grow and shape the future engineering team.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of professional software development, with 3+ years in a lead or principal engineer role.
• Proven expertise in Laravel (PHP) and Next.js (React), with successful experience in shipping and scaling production-grade applications.
• Strong hands-on AWS proficiency, covering architecture, deployments, and DevOps best practices.
• Track record of designing and optimizing large-scale, high-traffic systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing strong technical standards.
• Familiarity with secure payment system design (PCI DSS, tokenization, fraud prevention).

Nice to Have

• Experience with POS integrations (Oracle, Micros, Foodics, InvoPOS, etc.).
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven systems, and serverless architecture.
• Exposure to API-driven SaaS platforms or mobile app development.
• Previous experience in fintech, payments, or hospitality technology.
