Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong banking background to act as the bridge between business and technical teams. The role involves designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that align with business objectives while ensuring technical feasibility. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of banking systems, digital banking, core banking and integration.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Business & Technical Alignment

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, pain points, and strategic goals.

• Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant technical solutions.

• Work closely with technical teams (system owners, developers, infrastructure, security, and DevOps) to ensure feasibility and alignment with architectural principles.

2. Solution Design & Architecture

• Define end-to-end solution architecture for banking applications, including digital banking, core banking, payments, and regulatory compliance solutions.

• Design integration strategies between various banking systems (core banking, CRM, middleware, APIs, and third-party services).

• Ensure architectures are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with industry best practices (TOGAF).

• Develop solution blueprints, sequence diagrams, and architecture documentation.

3. Technical Governance & Compliance

• Ensure solutions comply with banking regulations (PCI-DSS).

• Define and enforce technical standards, patterns, and best practices across teams.

• Review API and integration designs to ensure efficiency and security.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as the single point of contact between business, technology, and regulatory teams.

• Support vendor selection and management for third-party banking solutions.

• Guide development teams in best practices, microservices, API-first architectures, and cloud adoption.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience in software development & software architecture, with at least 2 years in banking.

• Strong knowledge of middleware and ESB technologies (MuleSoft, TIBCO, IBM Integration Bus).

• Strong experience with banking systems (Core banking, cards systems, FIS switch, etc.) and payment gateways.

• Expertise in microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns, including:

• RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs. • Event streaming using (ex:Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• API gateway & security (ex:OAuth 2.0, JWT)

• Strong background in database technologies, including: • Relational databases (ex: Oracle, PostgreSQL)

• NoSQL databases (ex: MongoDB)

• Database replication & optimization strategies

• Experience with performance optimization & scalability strategies, including:

• Caching strategies

• Load balancing & auto-scaling

• Distributed tracing & logging

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to Translate business needs & requirements into technical solution design documents.

• Develop sequence diagrams, API documentation, and integration workflows.

• Present solutions to technical & non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in leading architecture reviews, technical governance, and solution assurance.

• TOGAF, BIAN, or AWS/Azure Solution Architect certification is a plus.
