Senior Specialist, Operation Support MFG IT

IT Manufacture Execution Systems

Job Purpose

Reporting to the MES Manager, the MES Operations Support Specialist will play a key role in delivering, implementing, and supporting the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) solution. The role contributes to the establishment of a greenfield digital factory and requires hands-on technical expertise. The specialist will be responsible for supporting and developing MES solutions, with a strong understanding of IT system implementations including requirement gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and validation.

Key Accountabilities

• Support the design and implementation of MES from requirement gathering to commissioning
• Maintain existing standards while suggesting improvements when necessary
• Apply technical best practices to ensure high-quality solutions, including code reviews and debugging
• Manage MES system installation, health checks, testing, and new deployments
• Design and validate backup and disaster recovery plans in collaboration with IT-OT departments
• Provide Level 2-3 MES system support to MES teams and business units during incidents
• Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and other application teams to ensure smooth implementation and service delivery
• Train and support operations teams and stakeholders to ensure effective use of MES software and tools
• Align and coordinate with other specialists on the Manufacturing IT landscape for smart factory initiatives

Job Requirements

• Education
  Diploma in Computer Science, Manufacturing Automation, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Experience
  3-5 years in a similar role
  Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing production automation systems in industrial environments
• Proven experience in implementing and supporting MES solutions
• Familiarity with full software development lifecycle projects
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies
• Experience in developing and analyzing project documentation
• Understanding of MES and ERP system interactions (preferred)
• Knowledge of programming languages such as AngularJS, C#, and Entity Framework (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Awareness of digital transformation technologies and OT (Operational Technology) is a plus
