Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will assist the Chief Financial Officer in performing complex accounting responsibilities. This individual will combine analytical skills with a thorough working knowledge of accounting principles to oversee the company’s accounting procedures, financial transactions and financial data used to make forecasting decisions and strategies for the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.

Analyzes financial information and summarizes financial status.
Prepares financial and consolidated statements.
Maintains general ledger.
Assists with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Supports month-end and year-end close process.
Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies for internal controls.
Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
Exhibits a high level of accuracy and attention to detail spotting errors and suggests ways to improve efficiency and spending.
Payroll experience a plus.
Assists in filing tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Capital Expenditure experience is a plus.
Review and establish cost for build of materials.
Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments as needed.
Treasury management.
Must be proficient in accounts payable and receivable.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance OR Associate degree with Sr. Accounting experience
Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company preferred.
Experience with accounting software. Experience with IQMS, Crystal Reports and/or QuickBooks is a plus.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Proven organizational, leadership and ownership skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Must be able to report to/work in the brick-and-mortar location.
Possess knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Holds an extensive understanding of and has ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Has basic understanding/knowledge of accounting software and ability to adapt to preferred accounting systems.
Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
Excellent organizational and ownership skills
Ability to analyze and compile data and complete tasks with a high attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a team environment but demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with a high sense of urgency on time sensitive projects.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be able to sit/stand at a desk/working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Lift up to 15 lbs as needed.
