Senior Staff Nurse

India

The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for supervising and providing high-quality nursing care, guiding junior nurses, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining professional standards in accordance with hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Supervise and guide staff nurses, ANMs, and nursing assistants in daily clinical duties.
  • Administer medications, IV infusions, and treatments as prescribed by doctors.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions, record observations, and promptly report critical changes.
  • Ensure proper documentation, maintenance of medical records, and adherence to protocols.
  • Assist physicians during medical procedures and emergency situations.
  • Maintain infection control practices, patient safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Provide patient and family education on care, treatment plans, and preventive health.
  • Participate in nursing audits, quality checks, and continuous training programs.
  • Schedule duties, manage shifts, and ensure adequate staffing in wards/units.
  • Act as a mentor and trainer for junior nurses and interns.
  • Handle complaints, escalate issues to the Nursing Superintendent when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with valid State Nursing Council registration.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience (depending on hospital requirement).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing practices, protocols, and hospital procedures.
  • Excellent communication, compassion, and problem-solving skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • May be assigned to wards, ICU, emergency, or specialty units as per hospital requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
