Senior Structural Designer

Job Description:

Provide essential technical expertise and perform design work of intermediate complexity. Under direct supervision, you will:

Prepare and review designs using 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting (CAD) tools.

Must have experience with SmartPlant 3D or S3D.

Coordinate technical issues with multidisciplinary teams, project management, vendors, and clients.

Execute work in compliance with project quality plans, scope, cost, and schedule baselines.

Conduct bulk material take-off analyses and tabulations.

Support equipment and material procurement and subcontracting through vendor submittal reviews.

Assist in construction administration by addressing requests-for-information and field changes.

Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Basic Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship.

Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.

Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards.

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with project management, teams, and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in using 3D modeling and 2D CAD automation tools in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Intermediate computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentations).

Discipline-Specific Requirements:

Advanced proficiency with industry-standard 3D modeling software.

Proficiency with industry-standard 2D CAD software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related technical field.

Experience in designing systems, structures, and components for critical facilities under stringent quality assurance standards.

Familiarity with material cost analysis and commercial availability.

Practical field experience.

EPC project experience in sectors such as federal projects, critical facilities, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
