Senior Structural Engineer

Job Overview / Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer – Oil & Gas to design, analyze, and ensure the integrity and safety of steel and reinforced concrete structures for oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and energy facilities.

The role involves delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective structural engineering solutions across FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases, while adhering to international codes, standards, and client-specific requirements.

Candidates based in Gurgaon or nearby NCR locations are preferred.
Retired professionals shall also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis and design for:
• Pipe racks
• Equipment support structures
• Shallow & deep (pile) foundations
• Process & non-process buildings
• Shelters and industrial structures
• Conduct load calculations including dead, live, wind, seismic, operational, and dynamic loads.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, design reports, and technical documents.
• Develop and review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, structural layouts, and 2D/3D models.
• Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and drafting teams for integrated design.
• Ensure compliance with international & local codes and standards, including:
• AISC, ACI, API, ASCE, IBC, OSHA
• Client-specific and project standards
• Support procurement activities:
• Structural MTOs, specifications
• Participation in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE)
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural integrity assessments during construction & commissioning.
• Resolve site engineering queries and provide design clarifications.
• Identify design optimizations and cost-effective solutions without compromising safety.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers (for Lead/Senior roles).

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Master’s Degree preferred

Experience

• 5–10+ years of structural engineering experience

(Senior/Lead roles: 10+ years preferred)

• Mandatory experience in Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical / Energy projects
• Exposure to greenfield & brownfield projects across FEED, Detailed Design & Construction stages

Professional Certification

• PE / Chartered Engineer status preferred
• Retired professionals from EIL / CPSEs / Govt. Organizations are highly encouraged to apply

Software Proficiency:

• Structural analysis & design tools:
• STAAD. Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA 3D
• Drafting & modeling:
• AutoCAD
• Exposure to Revit / Tekla / Navisworks / BIM tools is an advantage

Technical Competencies:

• Strong expertise in structural steel & RCC design
• In-depth knowledge of international design codes & standards
• Experience in industrial and heavy structures for oil & gas facilities

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary EPC teams
• High attention to detail with strong time & task management skills
