Senior Surrogacy & Fertility Law Attorney – Department Lead

Location: Westchester County, NY – In-office, Full-Time

Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 base (DOE) + performance bonus, profit share & full benefits

Must-have: Minimum 7 years of active divorce/family law experience, with at least several years in surrogacy or fertility-related legal work

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage high-complexity surrogacy, fertility, gamete donation, and reproductive law cases from intake to parental order.
  • Draft, negotiate, and oversee surrogacy contracts, pre- and post-birth litigation, donor agreements, and third-party parental rights applications.
  • Serve as the supervising attorney for the department—coach associates, develop workflows, and maintain quality control.
  • Participate in client intake, build trusted relationships with high-net-worth intended parents, agencies, clinics, and medical professionals.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on business development: refine messaging, contribute to marketing outreach, and position the department as a national leader.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Minimum seven years of family/divorce law, with post-2021 expertise in New York’s surrogacy laws (e.g. Child‑Parent Security Act).
  • Track record in drafting and guiding surrogacy and fertility agreements, parental orders, and associated litigation or administrative filings.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a legal department or high-volume practice.
  • High emotional intelligence, polished client presence, and ability to serve clients from diverse and sensitive family-building contexts.
  • Tech-savvy; comfortable with case management platforms, e-filing systems, and process innovation.
