Position Description

The Senior Surveyor provides surveying support on site with independent management of an assigned work area and control of measurement quality. The role is responsible for accurate setting-out of axes and levels, performing control measurements for structures and installation elements, and preparing verified survey data for construction execution and as-built documentation. The Senior Surveyor maintains proper survey documentation for the area, performs verification in case of deviations and supports as-built surveys for completed works.

Purpose of the work

To ensure reliable and verified surveying support within the assigned work area so that construction activities are executed using correct coordinates and levels. The role focuses on reducing geometry deviation risks, verifying completed works and preparing accurate survey data for confirmation of completed works and as-built deliverables.

Main responsibilities

  • Independently organises surveying activities within the assigned work area
  • Performs setting-out of axes, levels and coordinates for key construction activities
  • Conducts control measurements for structures and installation elements
  • Verifies compliance of actual coordinates and levels with design requirements
  • Controls structural geometry (verticality, horizontality and key parameters)
  • Performs re-checks and confirms final values when deviations are identified
  • Issues verified levels and coordinates to construction teams for execution
  • Supports as-built surveys and records actual measurement data for completed works
  • Maintains survey logs, sketches and measurement records in accordance with procedures
  • Ensures protection of benchmarks and control points within the work area
  • Reports deviations and non-conformities to site management in a timely manner
  • Complies with safety requirements during site surveying activities

Company Requirements

Must know:

  • Area-level surveying support for construction works
  • Setting-out and control measurement methods for axes, levels and coordinates
  • Structural geometry control and verification against design requirements
  • Practical operation of total stations, levels and GNSS equipment
  • As-built survey principles and actual data recording requirements
  • Survey documentation and verified data issuance procedures
  • Site safety rules applicable to surveying works

Qualification requirements

  • Vocational diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics or related discipline
  • Proven construction site surveying experience
  • Strong skills with total stations, levels and GNSS equipment
  • Ability to read drawings and perform setting-out based on coordinates and levels
  • Ability to perform control measurements and verify accuracy
  • Experience supporting as-built surveys and preparing as-built data
  • Working level of English for technical terms and site communication

Has rights

· To perform surveying works within the assigned scope

· To request clarification of design data when inconsistencies are identified

· To require re-surveys when deviations or accuracy concerns are identified

· To report critical deviations and initiate verification before continuation of works

· To refuse work in unsafe site conditions

Responsibility

· For accuracy of setting-out and control measurements within the assigned area

· For correct issuance of verified coordinates and levels to construction teams

· For timely identification of deviations affecting geometry and work quality

· For correctness of survey documentation and actual measurement records

Liability of the Materially Responsible Person (MRP):

· For custody and condition of surveying equipment if appointed as MRP

· For proper storage and handling of instruments

· For participation in equipment checks and inventories

Compliance with civil protection rules, including industrial and fire safety, occupational safety and health, environmental protection and energy conservation:

· Complies with occupational health and safety requirements

· Uses PPE and follows safe site practices

· Complies with industrial and fire safety rules

· Reports unsafe conditions and incidents immediately

Experience

  • 5-6 years of hands-on experience in construction site surveying works
  • Experience independently supporting surveying activities within an assigned work area
  • Experience performing control measurements and verifying structural geometry on site
  • Experience supporting as-built surveys and recording actual measurement data
