Job Description:

Ascertia is looking for a Senior System Engineer to maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, network and servers, email system, laptops, software, and hardware. The candidate should have prior experience, good management skills and responsibility, seek new challenges, take initiatives and should be a good team player.

Candidate should have good knowledge and experience in the following:

• Responsible to monitor and manage the network and relevant devices (switches, routers, Firewalls, wireless etc.)
• Proactively manage and maintain server, network, and firewall systems
• Installation of new hardware and software (Physical Servers, VMs, computer workstations/laptops, Network Devices (Switches, Routers, Access Points, etc.)
• Administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, Database Servers, Antivirus solutions, Hyper-V, and VMware technologies
• Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment
• Responsible to manage the operating systems, network devices automatic security updates distribution to network, servers and systems.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
• Assist in procurement process of hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation, and negotiations
• Monitoring of Ticket system and provide documented solutions
• Provide Technical support to remote users, train staff on new systems, day to day admin and monitoring of network use
• Good multitasking, problem solving, documentation skills
• Planning of future improvements, suggesting IT solutions to business problems
• Fluent English, team player and dedication to continually update knowledge

Job Specifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred
• Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired
• Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional – CCNA /CCNP
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10/11)
• Hands on experience on Microsoft Office365, SharePoint (Cloud/on-premises), Visio
• Must have hands on experience and knowledge of virtualization technologies like Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare Server
• Must have hands on experience of Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, Group Policy design and configuration, Microsoft IIS administration and configuration
• Must have hands on experience and knowledge of Linux systems and administration.
• Knowledge of SVN, Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, containerization would be plus
• Must have hands on experience and knowledge of different Database Servers (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
• Must have WSUS knowledge to monitor and manage Microsoft platform operating systems and applications.
• In depth knowledge of network type (LAN/WAN)
• Knowledge of the following areas is required: VPN (GRE, IPSec, and SSL VPNs), Wireless (802.1b/g/n/ac) and DNS/DHCP (Public and Private)
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues independently
• Must have basic knowledge of cloud environments like Azure, AWS, Google, etc.
• Must be good in presentation and have good knowledge of Office tools
• Knowledge/Experience in any of the following will be a big plus:
• Domain knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) products
• Microsoft System Center components basic level skills
