Senior Systems Engineer - Clearance Required

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to serve as a team lead supporting complex systems engineering projects in a mission-critical environment. This role involves overseeing the design, integration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems while ensuring interoperability with existing enterprise networks. The ideal candidate will lead teams in planning and executing large-scale systems projects, performing trade studies, and addressing unique or complex technical challenges at locations like NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead engineering efforts for system-level design, integration, and interface analysis
• Oversee installation, fielding, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems
• Ensure systems maintain interoperability with existing sponsor networks
• Plan and execute large-scale systems projects, including vendor comparison, trade studies, and cost analysis
• Perform systems engineering tasks across design, integration, and implementation phases
• Troubleshoot unique or complex system problems, providing innovative solutions
• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams in delivering mission-critical solutions

Here’s what you need (Required Qualifications):

• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience with network systems and/or technologies
• Proven experience in system design, integration, and large-scale project planning
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical teams

Bonus Points If You Have (Desired Qualifications):

• Experience working with NAVAIR/NAVSEA/NAWCAD
• Mission System Network Engineering experience

Security Clearance:

• Active DoD Top Secret

Education:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline

Work Schedule:

• Onsite, Monday - Friday

Compensation and Benefits:
The projected compensation range for this position is $175,000-200,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
