Job Description:
As a Development Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and enabling our teams to leverage cloud infrastructure (GCP) with a strong focus on IaC (Terraform), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and automation frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud environments are scalable, secure, and efficient. Your expertise in Cloud automation tools will be critical in building out a hybrid cloud infrastructure approach for our new development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt.

Design and implement solutions in container orchestration with Kubernetes.

Provisioning, implementing and supporting GCP technology stack services including computer engine, cloud storage, Kubernetes engine, Cloud functions, and more.

Build and enhance automation frameworks to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
-
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, deployments, and automation.

Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, IaC, and GitOps.

Train, mentor and guide fellow administration engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on IaC and Kubernetes engine.
-
4+ years of experience managing infrastructure/platform services in Google Cloud.
-
Self-starter with the ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
-
Experience designing/architecting infrastructure farms for various use cases.
-
Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform/Terra Grunt.

Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
-
Experience with monitoring tools like Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Familiarity with logging tools like Cloud Logging or ELK Stack.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
-
Knowledge of DevOps Ops technologies such as Docker/containers, Kubernetes, and data center deployments.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure.

Knowledge of security best practices in cloud infrastructure and automation.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

GCP certifications e.g. Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer.
