Senior Tax Accountant

Our firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare and review complex tax returns and provide tax planning services for our clients. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while identifying tax savings opportunities. The position reports to the Tax Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Research and analyze tax issues related to business transactions and tax compliance matters.
• Identify and implement tax planning strategies to minimize client tax liabilities.
• Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and tax provisions.
• Respond to tax notices and communicate with tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Supervise and review work performed by junior tax staff.
• Maintain knowledge of current tax laws and regulations through continuing education.
• Assist with tax audits by preparing documentation and representing clients before tax authorities.
• Prepare tax memorandums and presentations for clients and management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's in Taxation preferred.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification required.
• Minimum of 4 years of tax accounting experience in public accounting or similar environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with tax preparation software and research databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff members.
