Senior Tax Accountant (Hybrid or Remote)

The primary need is for a Tax professional with solid awareness in complex Tax issues. The Firm’s client base is diverse with an emphasis in Parnerships, & Real Estate. We also service mid-size business clients and their owners in a variety of industries. To support the business clients’ income tax needs, our Firm analyzes business accounting and performs light bookkeeping. Tax projections and tax planning is a year-round activity and is extensive at the end of the year.

The CPA Tax Senior will operate in the following functions:

Income tax compliance and audits

● In charge of reviewing tax returns prepared by accounting staff

● Prepare some advanced income tax returns

● Review business financial statements for income tax purposes

● Review responses to government tax notices

● Lead accounting team in tax audit representation

Tax planning and research

● Prepare income tax projections and year-end tax plan

● Perform analytical tax research on advanced issues

● Review tax research prepared by staff

● Multi-state tax issues

● Track tax law changes and keep staff informed

● Mergers and acquisitions

● Counsel clients on tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions

Client relationships

● Handle client relationships.

● Supervision of staff on a daily basis

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Masters degree would be a huge plus.
- CPA certification required
- Strong experience in tax accounting and financial concepts
- Proficiency in GAAP and tax regulations
- Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Quicken
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting and balance sheet reconciliation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for financial report writing and interpretation
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Current and Prior experience in public accounting is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
