ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Accounting & Tax Professional with proven leadership skills to lead and manage an accounting and tax team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in accounting, VAT, and Corporate Tax under UAE law, combined with the ability to supervise staff, review work, and advise clients.

This role is suited for a hands-on leader who can own month-end closing, compliance, and client delivery, while developing team performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting & tax team
• Review team deliverables (accounts, VAT returns, CT calculations)
• Allocate work, set deadlines, and ensure quality control
• Train junior and senior staff on UAE accounting and tax requirements

Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee full accounting cycle and month-end / year-end closing
• Review financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations
• Review provisions (depreciation, EOSB, leave, inventory, accruals)

VAT & Corporate Tax

• Manage VAT compliance (registration, filing, refunds, audits)
• Handle Corporate Tax registrations, calculations, and filings
• Advise clients on UAE VAT & Corporate Tax matters
• Liaise with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and external auditors

Client & Business Support

• Act as primary contact for key clients
• Explain financial and tax matters in clear, non-technical terms
• Support audits, inspections, and tax assessments
• Assist management with process improvement and internal controls

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5-7 years of UAE experience in accounting and taxation in accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT & Corporate Tax Law
• Proven team leadership / supervisory experience
• Experience dealing with FTA audits and compliance
• Fluent Arabic (mandatory) and strong English skills
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
• Must have Zoho Experience

Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA) are a strong advantage.
