Job Description


As a Technical Artist specializing in Unreal Engine, your role is pivotal as a bridge between art and programming, ensuring our games achieve the highest level of visual quality and technical performance. You'll optimize game assets while maintaining artistic vision, develop and implement art and animation pipelines, and troubleshoot technical issues. Staying updated on the latest trends and technologies, you'll collaborate closely with art and development teams to create visually stunning games that deliver an immersive player experience. Working closely with artists, designers, and programmers, you'll implement art assets, optimize performance, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge video games.


Experience & Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine, with a strong understanding of its rendering pipeline, Blueprints, and material/shader development and procedural & parametric design,
  • Experience in game development, focusing on technical art, optimization, and performance tuning,
  • Based on the seniority level, good command of 3D modeling and texturing software such as Maya or Blender,
  • Based on the seniority level, good command or familiarity with scripting languages like C++ for tool development is a plus,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to art implementation and performance,
  • A keen eye for detail and aesthetics, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual fidelity in games,
  • Ability to collaboratively build and expand upon the vision and ideas of others to create something bigger,
  • Following current trends and being able to forecast upcoming ones,
  • Experience working with teams in a production environment,
  • Good understanding of game mechanics and design principles,

Responsibilities


  • Collaborate closely with technical artists and team leads to facilitate communication between artists and programmers,
  • Contribute to resolving technical issues that may arise from other programs while working in Unreal Engine, ensuring the realization of the most visually stunning game possible within technical constraints,
  • Improve and optimize core systems such as Animation, Characters, UI, and Environment to enhance game performance and visual quality,
  • Optimize 3D assets, memory usage, and overall game performance to align with artistic and gameplay intentions,
  • Refine the art production pipeline to effectively execute artistic and game vision,
  • Assist in the integration of assets into the game engine and setting up technical content in the game world,
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in Unreal Engine and real-time rendering techniques, integrating new technologies to enhance our games.
  • Provide daily support to the Art and Technical teams, aiding team members in performing their roles efficiently.
  • Track assets in the engine from a technical perspective and document technical and art pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and pipelines to streamline art workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Strong ability to make critical artistic and process decisions to produce the best quality product quickly and efficiently.
  • Mentor team members and offer support as needed.
