Senior Technical Designer - Fashion

Qualifications: Must have experience in domestic and international production in the apparel industry

Our company is currently assisting a growing group of clients and is looking for someone to join our small, passionate team in helping bring this collection of visions to life.

Technical Designer:
We are seeking a Technical Designer to act as the vital link between Design and Production, ensuring that creative concepts are translated into high-quality garments. This role reports directly to the Design Director and will be deeply involved in every stage of the fit process—from initial design through TOP approval.

The Technical Designer will manage tech packs, POMs, and samples; provide detailed fit notes; create construction guidelines; and deliver clear, actionable comments to vendors. You will collaborate closely with the Design, Product Development, and Production teams to bring each style to life.

Daily Job Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Check in, measure, and prepare vendor samples for fittings.
• Build initial tech packs, select BOMs, and develop construction callouts.
• Attend all fittings, capturing detailed notes and photos.
• Analyze garments for compliance with specs, construction standards, and fit.
• Partner with the Design Director on proto through production samples (domestic and import).
• Update WIP and maintain accurate tracking dates for all styles.
• Request, receive, and organize pattern files and documentation.
• Support designers with CADs for buyers and initial spec sheets from sketches or photos.
• Assist with tech pack development for each new season.
• Communicate with overseas and domestic factories to track development progress.
• Receive, log, and send development samples as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of technical design experience in apparel (required).
• Proven experience working with both domestic and international factories.
• Deep knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, silhouettes, sewing techniques, fabrication, and trims.
• Sweater/fully fashioned knit knowledge a plus.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with excellent time management.
• Ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Team player with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
