Job Summary

The Senior Technician will lead mechanical maintenance tasks, troubleshoot major faults, and supervise junior technicians to ensure continuous and reliable operation of steel plant equipment. The role is hands-on and requires strong mechanical skills with heavy industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical maintenance teams during breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot faults in conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, rollers, couplings, and heavy machinery.
• Perform alignment, lubrication, part replacement, and precision maintenance tasks.
• Supervise technicians and helpers to ensure safe and efficient task execution.
• Support installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
• Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analysis, and spare parts requests.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and permit systems during maintenance.
• Participate in shutdown activities, overhauls, and planned equipment inspections.

Requirements

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
• Minimum 4–6 years mechanical maintenance experience in steel plants or heavy industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment, mechanical assemblies, and plant utilities.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform technical troubleshooting.
• Leadership skills for supervising small teams during maintenance jobs.
• Physically fit to work in hot, heavy-duty industrial areas.
