The Senior Technology Engineer will play a key role in driving the engineering function within Emirates NBD Group for the technologies he/she is responsible for. While managing the day to day operational activities is not expected here, this role will be accountable for the overall delivery activities such as Design, Development, Implementation, Standardization, Automation and Capacity Planning.

The job holder will be expected to have a T-shaped technical profile to be able to switch between multiple disciplines based on the project requirement where your core strength is coming from Linux operating system. The ideal candidate is also expected to automate the requirements of the platform in infrastructure as code way and take accountability of the end to end solution.

The role is expected to have discussions with Technical and Solution Architects to find optimal solution to a problem and implement it based on the infrastructure and project requirements. You are encouraged not only use but also contribute into open source technologies wherever it is applicable while maintaining interoperability and functionality of the infrastructure. You will be expected to do deep dive into various technologies and explore the capabilities to leverage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Drive projects to move the non-compliant products into the standard stack.
• Automate the installation and configuration of standard stack items.
• Perform code review of peers.
• Establish the product backlog that require to be addressed on 2 week sprints.
• Drive backlog projects to completion with infrastructure as code approach.
• Continuous R&D and vendor engagement.
• Automate the installation to achieve Zero touch unattended deployment.
• Review all housekeeping activities and identify key processes that should be automated.
• Introduce Open Source technologies into standard technology stack
• Design solutions that caters for enhancing the operational stability.
• Address Problem tickets, Risk and Audit items in the products backlog.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Computer Science or Equivalent
• Storage or Backup Certified Architect or Equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of Dell EMC Storage and Backup systems, administration experience including support of Internal storage and backup problems
• Administrator will provide operational support and guidance to internal issues.
• Solid Knowledge of different Storage products of Dell PowerMAX , Power Store , ECS and Huawei Oceanstor and Dorado
• Solid Knowledge of Dell EMC Backup products (Data Domains) and Veritas cohesity
• Solid Knowledge of BROCADE FC Switches
• Install &, Upgrade Backup software, apply patches, and ensure physical security of data.
• Work with business and application development teams to extract requirements and propose appropriate storage and backup solutions and standards.
• Implement solutions for data storage and maintenance.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning as it relates to the storage infrastructure.
• Create and maintain optimal backup, restore and redundancy solutions for business critical data.
• Storage Operations Specialist will provide operational support and guidance to internal clients
• Manage DR data replication to ensure data recoverability

• Performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning and maintaining availability
• Works closely with product vendor.
• Strong troubleshooting ability.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing justifications, writing status reports, documenting procedures, and inter- acting positively with other staff and management.
• Maintains Storage Inventory.
• Capable to perform Firmware upgrade on Storage and Backup boxes.
• Good Knowledge of Virtualization Environment Setups and familiarization with Storage Provisioning.
• Must be capable of independent problem-solving and self-driven.
• Good Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Red Hat & Unix in Physical and Virtualized environment.
