Senior Telecom Analyst - Wireline Optimization

Role Name: Senior Telecom Analyst

Summary: This position is responsible for analyzing carrier billing and usage data to assist our clients in reducing telecom expenses and through recognizing both dispute and optimization opportunities. Success in this role demands advanced Excel skills, a keen eye for spotting issues, problem solving and effective time management. The specialist will have responsibility for a set of clients and will be asked to work independently to make sure the work is completed on time and thoroughly.
Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities:
- Review carrier data and compare against various source data (contract, inventory, etc.) to identify potential misbilling items for brightfin clients.
- Optimize services by looking for opportunities to upgrade technology, bandwidth, or through contract inefficiencies.
- File approved opportunities with the respective vendor and track opportunity through to completion.
- Effectively measure customer benefit of implemented cost reduction and optimization opportunities.
- Utilize network and contractual knowledge to be able to communicate savings and optimization information to clients.
- Work with business lead to analyze new opportunities, identify areas of focus for audit work, and potential needs for each client.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of telecom network experience
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently, professionally, and effectively in English
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Advanced Excel knowledge including macros, pivot tables, and common formulas
- Ability to prioritize work activities based upon financial impact to desired business goals
- Has the passion to engage in deep analytical, algorithmic work while staying connected to the core business teams
- Previous experience working in and knowledge of vendor portals for major US and international carriers
- Knowledge of telecom carrier products, invoice formats, and billing systems
- Prior experience reviewing telecom carrier contracts
- Experience benchmarking telecom products is a plus
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
