Senior Test Specialist

Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Specialist to support our quality assurance efforts in Fort Belvoir, VA. This on-site role is responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of software applications through rigorous testing, analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle by identifying defects, improving testing processes, and helping deliver high-quality solutions to end users.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with system requirements and project objectives.
Perform thorough manual and automated testing to validate functionality, performance, and usability, ensuring software meets defined quality standards.
Identify, document, and track defects using established tools and processes; partner with development teams to drive timely resolution and successful retesting.
Collaborate closely with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
Analyze testing outcomes to identify trends and recommend enhancements to testing frameworks, tools, and overall QA processes.
Prepare clear, actionable reports on test results, defect status, and quality metrics to support informed decision-making by project leadership.

Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Proven experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
