Role Summary

Raj Express is building a serious digital news product where the website and mobile application are the core business assets. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (UI + UX) who will own the end-to-end reader experience across web and app, and help shape the product as it scales in traffic, content, and monetization.

This is not a one-time redesign role. The position is intended to be a long-term, strategic product role, with future team-building responsibility as the platform grows.

Key Responsibilities

Product and UX Strategy

• Own the overall user experience for Rajexpress.com and its application on iOS and android.
• Design reader journeys across home, category, article, and discovery flows
• Work closely with editorial, business, and tech teams to align product decisions with real newsroom and revenue needs
• Translate business goals such as growth, retention, subscription, and advertising into practical UX solutions

UI Design and Design System

• Define and maintain a scalable design system including typography, grids, spacing, and reusable components
• Ensure a clean, content-first, high-readability editorial interface
• Maintain visual consistency across website and mobile platforms
• Ensure designs are performance-aware and mobile-first

Execution and Collaboration

• Work closely with the internal IT and development teams to ensure smooth design-to-development handoff
• Actively participate in CMS-driven design decisions and constraints
• Review implemented work to ensure design intent and quality are preserved
• Reduce dependency on external agencies by building strong internal design capability

Monetization and Growth Support

• Design and iterate on subscription journeys, paywall logic, and conversion touchpoints
• Support ad-friendly yet reader-safe layouts and native formats
• Continuously refine UX based on user behavior, data, and business learning

Leadership and Ownership

• Act as the design owner for Raj Express digital products
• Build and mentor a small design team as workload increases
• Set design processes, documentation, and quality benchmarks

Required Experience and Skills

• 5 to 8+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or UI/UX Designer
• Strong experience with content-heavy platforms such as news, media, publishing, or large-scale consumer products
• Proven ability to handle both UX strategy and UI execution at a senior level
• Strong understanding of typography, readability, and information hierarchy
• Experience working closely with developers and CMS-driven products
• Hands-on expertise with tools like Figma and collaborative design workflows
• Ability to explain design decisions in business and user-impact terms, not just visuals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
