Senior Video Editor

Position: Video Editor (News & Political Content Focus)

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Video Editor with a minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in news channel video editing with a focus on political content. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro, and possess a strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual communication. You will be responsible for producing compelling and polished video content for a variety of platforms, including social media.

Key Responsibilities:

Edit raw footage into high-quality final videos using Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Work with political news content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and impactful storytelling.

Trim and assemble clips, sync audio, insert music, graphics, subtitles, and visual effects.

Collaborate closely with the creative team to meet project goals and storytelling needs.

Perform color grading, sound mixing, and integrate motion graphics where required.

Organize and manage video assets, including media backups and file organization.

Ensure all deliverables meet brand, editorial, and technical standards.

Keep up with the latest editing techniques, trends, and news content requirements.

Handle feedback professionally and deliver revisions under tight deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of professional experience editing video content for news channels, especially in political reporting and analysis.

Proficient in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Strong portfolio/reel showcasing edited political/news content.

Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud tools is a plus.

Deep understanding of video formats, aspect ratios, and export settings for digital and broadcast platforms.

Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.

Sharp attention to detail and a strong sense of visual storytelling.

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, or a related field.

Experience with content production for platforms like YouTube, Instagram Reels, Facebook, or OTT.

Familiarity with color grading tools such as DaVinci Resolve is an added advantage.
