Senior Waiter – Key Responsibilities1. Customer Service & Guest Experience
- Greet and welcome guests in a polite, friendly, and professional manner.
- Present menus, provide detailed information on menu items, and offer recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar staff promptly.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by anticipating their needs and addressing any concerns or complaints immediately.
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach at all times to enhance the guest experience.
2. Order Management & Service
- Serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
- Ensure proper table settings, including cutlery, glasses, and tableware.
- Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and customized orders carefully.
- Monitor guest tables regularly to ensure prompt service and handle additional orders quickly.
- Ensure accurate billing and assist guests with payment processing.
3. Leadership & Team Support
- Assist in supervising junior waiters and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to new team members.
- Coordinate between kitchen, bar, and service staff to maintain seamless service.
- Act as the point of contact between management and the service team for updates and instructions.
4. Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the dining area, tables, and service stations are always clean and well-organized.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per UAE Municipality and company policies.
- Report any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues to management promptly.
- Make sure that proper personal hygiene and grooming standards are maintained at all times.
5. Upselling & Revenue Enhancement
- Suggestive sell and promote menu specials, combo offers, and premium items to maximize sales.
- Ensure knowledge of current promotions and offers to inform guests effectively.
- Assist in achieving outlet sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.
6. Reporting & Communication
- Provide daily feedback to the Restaurant Manager on guest experiences and operational issues.
- Report customer complaints, delays, or service concerns to management immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, bills, and any customer special requests.
7. General Duties
- Attend daily briefings and follow instructions from the Restaurant Manager.
- Assist in stock control for tableware, cutlery, and linens.
- Perform opening and closing duties as per the restaurant’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Be flexible and assist other team members when required during peak operations.
