Senior Web Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Web Designer to assist our developers in creating bold, beautiful websites. Our team is a collaborative group of skilled consultants working for small-mid market clients across the Bay Area. Aside from purely web design, other design opportunities may present themselves based on the candidate's skillset, as our company covers all things from print media, marketing, social media, and much more. What You'll Do:

  • Lead the complete design process for new features and product enhancements—from concept ideation, user flows, wireframing, and prototyping to final pixel-perfect execution.
  • Create and maintain a scalable and robust design system using Figma to ensure consistency and efficiency across all products.
  • Build high-fidelity, interactive, and persuasive prototypes using Framer to communicate design intent and test user interactions.
  • Translate designs into functional, responsive, and visually stunning websites and web components using Webflow.
  • Collaborate directly with the development team, providing clear assets and guidance using your strong understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Design and produce a wide range of visual content, from brand identities and marketing materials to social media graphics, using Adobe CC tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
  • Champion user-centric design principles by conducting and participating in user research, usability testing, and data analysis.
  • Present design concepts, rationale, and progress to key stakeholders, clearly articulating the "why" behind your design decisions.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and continuous growth within the team.
  • Stay at the forefront of the design industry, proactively exploring new tools, trends (including AI-powered design features), and technologies to keep our products and processes innovative.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX, Product Design, or a related digital design role.
  • A portfolio that blows us away, showcasing a deep understanding of the design process, problem-solving skills, and a variety of successful projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including a deep understanding of components, variants, auto layout, and prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience creating complex interactive prototypes with Framer.
  • Strong proficiency in Webflow, with the ability to build responsive, CMS-driven, and high-performance websites.
  • Solid understanding of front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS) to effectively collaborate with engineers and ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) for creating graphics, illustrations, and motion assets.
  • Experience with Canva for quickly generating marketing and communication materials.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to connect design decisions to business objectives and user needs.

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience with motion design and 3D tools.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for web design.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Figma AI, Midjourney) to enhance the creative workflow.
  • A passion for accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Freelance

Pay: $40.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
