Project Overview:

We are an international healthcare services company with multiple high-traffic WordPress websites and SEO-driven landing pages. We are in the process of migrating our entire WordPress ecosystem to a modern React.js architecture.

We are hiring a Senior WordPress Developer (Contract – 3 Months) whose primary responsibility is to support, guide, and collaborate with our React.js developer and SEO team to ensure a smooth, SEO-safe, and technically accurate migration.

This role is NOT a long-term WordPress maintenance role.It is a knowledge-transfer + migration support role.

Role Objective (Very Important)

The candidate will:

• Act as the WordPress subject-matter expert
• Help the React.js developer to understand WordPress structures, logic, and dependencies
• Ensure zero SEO loss during migration
• Assist in mapping WordPress data, URLs, templates, and plugins to React-based equivalents
• Enable a clean exit after 3 months, once migration is stable

Key Responsibilities:

WordPress → React.js Migration Support

• Audit existing WordPress websites, pages, templates, and plugins
• Explain WordPress architecture, database structure, and content flow to the React.js developer
• Help map:
• Pages → React components
• Templates → Layout systems
• Forms → React/API-based solutions
• Plugins → Custom React / backend logic

SEO-Safe Migration

• Work closely with the SEO team to:
• Preserve URLs, slugs, metadata, schema, and internal linking
• Plan and validate 301 redirects
• Ensure Core Web Vitals and indexing stability
• Assist in migration of:
• Yoast / RankMath SEO data
• Schema markup
• Blog structures and categories

Technical Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Create clear documentation for:
• WordPress logic and dependencies
• Content workflows
• Admin panel functions that need React replacements
• Train internal teams so they are independent after contract completion

Coordination & Validation

• Work daily with:
• React.js Developer
• SEO Team
• UI/UX Team (if required)
• Validate React pages against WordPress originals for:
• Content accuracy
• SEO structure
• Functional parity

Required Technical Skills

Must-Have

• 6+ years of deep WordPress development experience
• Strong PHP knowledge (WordPress hooks, filters, custom plugins)
• WordPress database structure (MySQL)
• Experience with:
• Custom themes
• ACF
• Gutenberg
• Strong understanding of SEO from a developer’s perspective
• Excellent documentation & explanation skills

Highly Preferred

• Prior experience in WordPress → React / Headless CMS migration
• Basic understanding of:
• React.js concepts
• REST APIs / Headless WordPress
• Familiarity with Next.js is a plus

Soft Skills (Critical for This Role)

• Ability to teach and explain concepts clearly
• Strong coordination with developers and SEO teams
• Ownership mindset for migration success
• Comfortable working under fixed timelines
• Professional, structured, and process-driven

Contract Expectations

• Duration: 3 Months only
• Goal: Complete migration support + full knowledge transfer
• No dependency on candidate after contract completion
• Immediate joining preferred
