Alpha Team Solutions, Inc. is seeking multiple experienced Cybersecurity Engineers to serve as an ISSO supporting an Army client located at Fort Bragg. This position requires a deep understanding of the Army's authorization process (RMF), strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and secure software authorization, and proven experience in cybersecurity engineering for cloud-based and distributed environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as a Security and Information Assurance (IA) lead, directly supporting the Government Client's cloud offerings (AWS and Azure) and managing security engineering efforts across the program.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on information assurance (IA) to support both current systems and new technologies under consideration.
- Lead the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process by ensuring systems meet Army RMF requirements and comply with all relevant standards (NIST RMF, 800-53, FEDRAMP, and agency-specific directives).
- Analyze and assess systems, networks, and architectures for security compliance across technical, procedural, and management controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate appropriate security controls, enabling secure and efficient software/system operations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of security artifacts, including System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), POA&Ms, and other necessary documents.
- Manage vulnerability analysis, review scan results, and implement mitigations for operating systems and applications.
- Act as the key advisor for secure software authorization, working with development teams to embed security in the software lifecycle and facilitate secure deployment.
- Ensure seamless progression through the RMF lifecycle, enabling the Government Client to achieve and maintain system and software authorizations.
Desired Experience
- Extensive knowledge of the Army's RMF process and DoD/IC cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience with software development authorization, secure coding practices, and integrating cybersecurity measures into the SDLC.
- Experience in managing distributed systems and cloud computing environments.
- Hands-on experience developing security artifacts and managing compliance in tools like eMASS.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and mitigation strategies for both systems and applications.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related technical fields; Master’s Degree preferred.
Certifications: IAT Level II minimum; CISSP strongly preferred. Security+, CEH, Linux+, AWS, and Redhat certifications are desirable.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT systems security/information assurance in IC/DoD environments.
- Strong expertise in Army RMF, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, or related frameworks.
- Experience with secure cloud and distributed system operations.
- Background in software development, secure coding practices, or software/system authorization processes is highly desirable.
