Job Title: SEO Copyeditor

WHO WE ARE
The team at SLS Consulting specializes in digital marketing for attorneys nationwide. From website design and SEO, to content creation and social media marketing, we oversee all aspects of our clients' web presence. We are currently looking for a Freelance Copyeditor, ideally with experience working in-house, as a contributing member of a SEO marketing team. We are a fully remote company, however, we are looking for applicants in the Los Angeles County area for ease of team-building and time management.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the written word, displays strong attention to detail and the rules of grammar, and has experience writing professional and research-heavy content. The position will require close collaboration with the head of our SEO department to develop content strategies and evaluate new, existing, and externally written content.
Summary
Review analytics and site performance to generate prompts for new on-site copy as well as client blog articles, draft and update on-site copy, and produce new content and blogs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following, though other duties may be assigned.
Primary
content for client sites;
content as well as seasonal topics;
Secondary
o New site pages;
o Site page updates;
o Site page merges;
o Blog articles;
o Social media captions;
o Descriptions for directories and
profiles;
o Copy for infographics; and
o o Misc. blurbs and taglines.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and experience with professional editing and proofreading, as well as a background working with or possessing knowledge about SEO; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Strong reading comprehension and excellent writing skills. content for accuracy, phrasing, and grammatical errors. Ability to review written
Mathematical Skills
Ability to interpret graphs and data tables and draw conclusions based on statistical trends and forecasts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of Word Processing software, comfortable using internet-based programs and software, working knowledge of WordPress, Google Analytics, and social media platforms, and knowledge of HTML. Ability to perform research online using tools such as search engines and databases.

Other Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail, expert knowledge of English grammar, and working knowledge of legal industry terminology. Ability to fact-check data and information for accuracy.
