Awayday is a leading vacation rental company dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for guests and homeowners. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven SEO Manager who will own organic search strategy and performance across a portfolio of vacation rental brands. This role is ideal for an experienced, agency-minded SEO expert, who can juggle multiple accounts, lead projects and people, and partner closely with marketing, revenue management, and web development teams to drive direct bookings and owner acquisition.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop and execute holistic SEO strategies (technical, on-page, content, and off-page) for a growing portfolio of vacation rental websites to grow qualified organic traffic and direct bookings.
  • Act as the day-to-day SEO lead for all accounts, including planning, prioritization, roadmap creation, and performance reporting.
  • Lead or mentor a team (specialists, coordinators, writers), providing direction, QA, and professional development.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword, SERP, and competitive research focused on travel, destination, and vacation rental intent.
  • Own technical SEO audits and implementation plans (site architecture, indexation, Core Web Vitals, schema, internal linking, redirects, crawl budget, etc.).
  • Partner with web developers or agencies on new site builds, migrations, and feature launches to protect and grow organic performance.
  • Collaborate with content, paid media, email, and social teams to align initiatives and support integrated campaigns (seasonal promos, new markets, tuck-ins, owner acquisition, etc.).
  • Manage local SEO for multi-location portfolios, including Google Business Profiles, listings consistency, and review strategy.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that clearly tie SEO performance to revenue, bookings, and owner leads.
  • Stay current on algorithm updates, SEO best practices, and industry trends in travel and short-term rentals, and translate them into actionable recommendations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including strategy, execution, and reporting, with a strong record of driving measurable growth in organic traffic and conversions.
  • Prior agency experience managing multiple clients or brands in parallel, ideally in travel, hospitality, or e-commerce preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing a small team (formal people management or strong mentorship/project leadership).
  • Deep knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, site architecture, and content strategy.
  • Proficiency with core SEO tools (e.g., GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, Semrush/Ahrefs, keyword and rank tracking tools).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, uncover insights, and communicate clear recommendations to non-SEO stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with marketing, product, development, and revenue management teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with client-facing or stakeholder-facing experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Background in the vacation rental, hotel, or broader travel/hospitality industry.
  • Experience with booking engines, PMS/CRM integrations, or direct-booking website platforms.
  • Familiarity with CRO, UX best practices, and how SEO fits into the full funnel from search to stay.
