Compensation: Equity-based (Founding Contributor, targeted at approximately 0.1% equity); unpaid during pre-revenue phase

Role Overview

The SEO Specialist will shape and execute a search-optimization strategy that amplifies our voice across multiple verticals — from ethical fashion and coffee to nonprofit storytelling.
This is a founding-phase fractional role ideal for someone excited to build an integrated digital presence from the ground up, working alongside our creative and content leads to make the Oh! ecosystem discoverable, scalable, and unforgettable.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Research

• Develop and implement a comprehensive SEO roadmap aligned with Oh! Love Ya Dawn’s mission and voice.
• Conduct keyword research across lifestyle, philanthropy, coffee, and fashion categories.
• Analyze competitor activity and identify gaps for organic growth.

Optimization & Execution

• Optimize on-page content, blog posts, and product descriptions for search performance while maintaining authentic brand voice.
• Partner with Erin and the Storytelling team to integrate SEO into editorial planning, site structure, and metadata.
• Manage technical SEO basics (crawlability, page speed, indexing, schema markup, canonical tags, etc.) within the Wix platform and connected tools.
• Build backlink strategies through ethical outreach, partnerships, and PR tie-ins.

Analytics & Reporting

• Set up and monitor SEO analytics dashboards (Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush/Ahrefs).
• Provide monthly insights and actionable recommendations to the Storytelling team.
• Track keyword rankings, CTR, and traffic-growth benchmarks.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Erin (Storytelling) and Dan (Founder) to align SEO with storytelling tone and campaign launches.
• Support social, email, and PR integration for multi-channel consistency.
• Coordinate with future technical staff to ensure clean implementation of SEO best practices.

Ideal Candidate

Experience

• 3 + years in SEO (agency, brand, or freelance).
• Demonstrated success improving organic traffic and search rankings.
• Experience with GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Wix SEO tools and integrated analytics dashboards.

Skills

• Keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical SEO fundamentals.
• Ability to translate analytics into creative strategy.
• Strong writing and editing sensibility aligned with brand tone.
• Understanding of cross-channel digital marketing (content, social, PR).
