We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Manager of SEO Strategy & Technology to drive the firm’s organic visibility, ensure technical site health, and lead search performance initiatives across all practice areas.

Job Summary:

The Manager of SEO Strategy & Technology is responsible for developing and overseeing the firm's long-term SEO roadmap, maintaining technical integrity across digital properties, and ensuring alignment with evolving search engine algorithm standards. Reporting to firm leadership, this role will provide strategic direction, manage technical SEO workflows, and guide content execution to maximize organic reach and revenue impact. The ideal candidate is a seasoned SEO professional with advanced technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of search behavior within the legal sector.


Key Responsibilities
:

  • Develop and maintain the firmwide long-term SEO strategy, including technical requirements, keyword targeting, and prioritization across all practice areas.
  • Oversee the technical health of www.whitefordlaw.com, including site speed, crawlability, indexation, mobile performance, core web vitals, and structured data integrity.
  • Monitor and interpret Google algorithm updates (e.g., Core Updates, E-E-A-T initiatives) and translate changes into actionable guidance for content, development, and marketing teams.
  • Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs); deliver comprehensive monthly reports on organic visibility, traffic quality, conversions, and revenue impact to firm leadership.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the SEO Content Specialist, ensuring strategic alignment and approving all SEO-driven content prior to publication.
  • Collaborate with IT, Marketing, and attorney teams to improve site architecture, content performance, and overall digital visibility.
  • Maintain documentation of SEO processes, workflows, and reporting standards to support operational consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in advanced technical SEO and scalable site architecture for large or complex websites.
  • Proficiency with major SEO platforms, including Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
  • Deep understanding of search behavior within the legal or professional services industry, with demonstrated application of E-E-A-T principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to rendering, indexing, and search engine accessibility.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize effectively, and oversee cross-functional workflows.
  • High degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; comparable technical training or certifications will be considered.
  • 6+ years of specialized SEO experience, preferably within the legal or broader professional services sector.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical SEO initiatives and managing large website environments.
  • Experience creating and maintaining organized reporting and documentation systems.
