Buffet of Louisiana

is a newly opened buffet restaurant in Baton Rouge. We are a fast-paced, modern, all you can eat, mid to upper scale fine-dine in buffet with full dinning services provided.

And we are now hiring servers. Who must have experiences in serving in prior, have a fairly presentable appearance, able to work in the fast-pace restaurant. Preferably able to work in full days from 10 am - closes.

Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Server, where you will be the heart of the guest experience! Your energetic and welcoming attitude will ensure every guest feels valued and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. As a key player in our restaurant, you’ll deliver exceptional service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and creating memorable dining moments. Your culinary knowledge and food industry experience will help you confidently recommend menu items, upsell specials, and maintain a high standard of food safety and sanitation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, fine dining environment while showcasing your hospitality skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and answer questions about food and drink options with enthusiasm.
  • Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted and fulfilled.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining a clean and organized service station.
  • Upsell menu items, daily specials, and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
  • Maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation guidelines, proper food handling procedures, and cleanliness protocols.
  • Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas quickly, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions or concerns promptly to foster positive guest relations.
  • Support the team during busy nightclub or restaurant hours with efficient service, guest engagement, and teamwork.
  • Follow all food industry regulations related to health codes, sanitation, and food preparation to ensure a safe dining environment.

Experience

  • Previous restaurant experience in a fast-paced or fine dining setting is highly preferred.
  • Proven skills in food service roles such as server, host/hostess, or busser demonstrate your ability to excel in this position.
  • Experience with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of OpenTable for reservations management is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations and hospitality are essential.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately along with basic math skills for billing purposes.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures is required.
  • Culinary or kitchen experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory; a passion for the food industry is key.
