Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash, process payments accurately, and manage POS transactions with confidence and precision
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, assist with bussing, and ensure sanitation standards are consistently met
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, including culinary ingredients and food safety practices
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address guest needs promptly
- Support guest relations by addressing questions or concerns professionally, turning every interaction into a positive experience
- Assist with food handling, basic math calculations for bills, and food preparation when needed in a fast-paced environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale bars
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for efficient order processing
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that enhances guest experiences
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables while maintaining quality service standards
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is advantageous but not required; a background in hospitality is highly valued
- Basic math skills for cash handling and bill calculations; attention to detail is essential for accuracy
- Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
