Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system (Toast) ensuring all special requests are noted
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Manage table settings, clear dishes, and assist with bussing to maintain a clean dining environment
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are strictly followed during food handling and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders, especially in fast-paced or fine dining settings
- Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to coordinate guest seating and waitlist management
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale bars
- Strong knowledge of POS system (Toast) and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude and the ability to connect with diverse guests
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food preparation enhances service quality
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while respecting guest preferences
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable for managing guest seating arrangements
- Basic math skills for bill calculations, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and team members
- Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles that involve guest relations and food industry standards
