About the Role:

As a Server at Concordia Senior Living (CSL), you will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience of our senior residents by providing attentive, respectful, and personalized service. Your primary goal is to ensure that all residents receive their meals in a timely and pleasant manner, accommodating any special dietary needs or preferences. You will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and other team members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. This role requires a compassionate approach, recognizing the unique needs of seniors and contributing to their overall well-being through excellent customer service. Ultimately, your efforts will help foster a warm community atmosphere that supports the health and happiness of our residents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with elderly residents.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays or plates as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with senior populations or in healthcare environments.
  • Training in customer service or hospitality.
  • Familiarity with special dietary needs such as diabetic, low-sodium, or allergen-free diets.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet residents warmly and assist them with menu selections, ensuring clear communication of dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Serve meals and beverages promptly and courteously, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
  • Monitor residents during meal service to address any immediate needs or concerns, reporting any health or safety issues to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning dining areas before and after meal times to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and care staff to accommodate special dietary requirements and ensure accurate meal delivery.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Server to provide attentive and respectful service tailored to the unique needs of senior residents, ensuring clear communication and safe meal delivery. Effective interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with residents and collaborating with kitchen and care teams. Knowledge of food safety practices is applied daily to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with special diets and certifications in food handling, enhance the Server's ability to accommodate diverse dietary requirements and respond appropriately to emergencies. Together, these skills contribute to creating a positive dining experience that supports the health and comfort of our senior community.
