We are seeking an energetic, service-oriented Tasting Room Server to join our team and help guests discover our award-winning wines, craft spirits, and the stories behind them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about hospitality, food and beverage, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Position Summary

As a Tasting Room Server, you will be responsible for providing warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to every guest who visits VARA. You will guide guests through wine and spirit tastings, serve food and beverages, promote wine club memberships, and help create an atmosphere that reflects our commitment to quality and hospitality.

The ideal candidate is personable, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and comfortable educating guests while driving sales in a professional and approachable manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and create a positive first impression of VARA Winery & Distillery
• Conduct wine and spirit tastings while sharing information about our products, production methods, and brand story
• Provide exceptional table service for guests enjoying food, wine, cocktails, and spirits
• Make thoughtful recommendations that enhance the guest experience
• Promote wine club memberships, bottle sales, and featured offerings
• Accurately enter orders and process transactions using our POS system
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment
• Assist with opening and closing duties, stocking, cleaning, and inventory support
• Ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations and responsible serving practices
• Collaborate with team members to create a seamless and memorable guest experience
• Support special events, private tastings, and winery programs as needed

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, restaurant, tasting room, winery, brewery, bar, or retail experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage guests and confidently discuss wines, spirits, food pairings, and club benefits (training provided)
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and build guest relationships
• Comfortable working in a sales-oriented environment with performance goals
• Ability to multitask and remain composed during busy service periods
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
• Must meet all state requirements for alcohol service
