- Job Type: Full Time and Part Time, 24-40 Hours per Week.
- Pay: $8-$10 per hour, plus tip pool.
- Restaurant Hours: Thursday-Sunday, 7am - 4pm
Job Description: We are hiring energetic and personable servers and wait-staff to join our team at Tuggle's Gap Restaurant. This traditional server role will involve greeting/seating guests in a timely fashion, taking orders and serving food, mixing and serving alcoholic beverages, taking payments while providing a heartwarming atmosphere. We serve a classic diner menu for breakfast and lunch, with plans to expand. Our goal is to provide our guests the best experience possible and become an outstanding landmark on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Services: Greet guests promptly. Answer questions in a professional manner. Provide attentive service to all our guests.
- Open/Closing Duties: Complete duties described in handbook for opening/closing the FOH of a Restaurant. Brewing coffee/tea, wiping tables, sweeping floors, basic sidework, ensuring the restaurant is ready for guests.
- Order Accuracy: Accurately take and quickly fire orders through the POS system. Knowledge of the menu is essential to help guide guests and prevent errors.
- Payments: Handle cash and process credit card transactions securely and accurately. Become proficient with our POS system.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized dining space, and clear or reset tables according to food safety and sanitation standards. Maintain dress code within standards set in the employee handbook.
- Teamwork: Working well with others and a willingness to help your co-workers is essential to a restaurant’s success. Communicate effectively with your co-workers, and superiors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma and/or experience in hospitality.
- Experience: 1+ years of restaurant/hospitality experience in a fast-paced, professional setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong intrapersonal and problem solving abilities and basic math/money handling skills. Able to maintain a sense of urgency and composure.
- Certification: Current ServSafe or local Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts, and lift up to 30lbs.
- Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Must be legally able to sell/serve alcohol.
