We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Platform Validation Senior Technician to join our hardware validation team. This role focuses on hands-on assembly, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of server platforms and subsystems in a lab environment. You will support engineering validation efforts by preparing test setups, executing test procedures, and documenting results. The ideal candidate has strong technical experience with server hardware, excellent problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced engineering lab.

 

Qualifications: Diploma in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a server or hardware validation lab.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform server assembly, hardware upgrades, reworks, and maintenance per engineering instructions.
  • Set up and configure systems for validation including BIOS/FW flashing, OS installation, and peripheral installation.
  • Run validation tests including thermal, power, stress, interoperability, and firmware tests.
  • Document test results, capture logs, and report issues accurately to engineering teams.
  • Assist in root cause analysis by collecting data and reproducing issues in the lab.
  • Maintain lab infrastructure including racks, power, cooling, network setup, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with validation engineers to prepare systems for EVT/DVT/PVT testing cycles.
  • Support BIOS, firmware, and BMC/IPMI update processes during validation.
  • Ensure lab safety and best practices are followed at all times.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Strong hands-on experience assembling and configuring servers and computing hardware.
  • Understanding of x86 architecture, storage interfaces (SATA, NVMe), memory installation, and CPU socketing.
  • Familiarity with BIOS, firmware, and BMC interfaces (IPMI, Redfish).
  • Comfortable working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with flashing tools, diagnostic software, and hardware testing utilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting engineering validation or manufacturing test environments.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting (Python, Bash) for test execution or logging.
  • Comfortable with basic electronics tools for rework or diagnostics (multimeter, oscilloscope).
  • Understanding of thermal, power, and stress testing procedures for enterprise hardware.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously in a dynamic lab setting.
