Server (Restaurant & Event Service)

Position Overview

Join the team at Alpino, a James Beard Award Semi-Finalist for Best New Restaurant, where exceptional hospitality and memorable dining experiences are at the heart of everything we do. Led by Executive Chef Colin Campbell and owner David Richter, Alpino is committed to thoughtful service, outstanding food, and genuine hospitality.

As a Server, you are more than an order-taker—you are a key part of the guest experience. You'll guide guests through our food, wine, and beverage offerings, anticipate their needs, and work closely with the kitchen, bar, and leadership team to deliver seamless service from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

  • Deliver warm, polished, and attentive service that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns promptly, involving leadership when necessary.
  • Create memorable dining experiences through genuine hospitality and attention to detail.

Menu & Beverage Knowledge

  • Maintain a strong understanding of menu offerings, daily features, wine selections, and beverage pairings.
  • Confidently discuss ingredients, allergens, and dietary accommodations.
  • Make thoughtful recommendations tailored to guest preferences.

Service Execution

  • Accurately enter orders and manage proper coursing and timing throughout the meal.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • Maintain awareness of pacing and guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

Teamwork & Standards

  • Collaborate with fellow servers, support staff, bartenders, and culinary team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dining environment.
  • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.

Payment & Closing Procedures

  • Present checks promptly and process payments accurately.
  • Complete side work and closing responsibilities according to restaurant standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid Wine knowledge and a general interest in food and beverage.
  • Reliable, professional, and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
