Dining is an important part of the member experience. Throughout the spring and summer seasons, members gather across multiple dining areas including elegant indoor spaces, outdoor terraces, waterfront patios, and seasonal venues that overlook the harbor. From relaxed family dinners and casual outdoor meals to regattas, celebrations, and private events, the culinary and service teams help create memorable moments for members and their guests.

Seasonal Servers play a key role in this environment by delivering attentive service while helping maintain the welcoming and polished atmosphere that members expect from a private club.

Position Summary

The Seasonal Server provides professional food and beverage service across the Club’s dining venues and event spaces during the busy spring and summer season. Servers help guide members through their dining experience while ensuring service is smooth, attentive, and aligned with the Club’s standards.

This position is well suited for college students, teachers on summer break, and experienced servers seeking seasonal employment in a professional hospitality environment. Team members gain valuable experience working in a private club setting that blends fine dining service with relaxed waterfront hospitality.

Successful candidates bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced service environment.

Key Responsibilities

Member Dining Service

  • Provide attentive and professional food and beverage service during member dining, private events, and special club functions
  • Present menus, answer questions, and offer recommendations for food and beverages
  • Accurately record orders and communicate with the kitchen regarding timing, dietary restrictions, and special requests
  • Maintain a welcoming and attentive presence throughout the dining experience

Dining Room Operations

  • Set and maintain tables according to club service standards
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently during service
  • Complete side work and station preparation before and after service periods
  • Maintain a clean and organized service environment throughout the shift

Team Collaboration

  • Attend pre-shift meetings to review menus, service notes, and event details
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, managers, and fellow servers to ensure coordinated service
  • Assist with large events and busy dining periods when needed

Member Experience

  • Address member questions or concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times
  • Contribute to a welcoming and professional dining atmosphere

  • Must meet legal requirements to serve alcohol
  • Food safety or alcohol service certification is a plus

Schedule and Availability

This position requires flexible availability based on the Club’s dining schedule and seasonal events.

Servers must be available to work a combination of:

  • Day and evening shifts
  • Weekends
  • Major holidays and holiday weekends including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day

Schedules are determined based on business needs and seasonal demand.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during service
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in both indoor dining areas and outdoor waterfront settings
