Service Desk Engineer

Datotel is seeking a talented, Service Desk Engineer to join their team.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certifications are desired (Cisco, Microsoft, etc.)
  • At least two years of experience working as a help desk or service desk engineer (MSP experience preferred).
  • At least two years of experience utilizing, troubleshooting, researching, and/or fixing the following:
  • Windows 10 and above
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • Entra
  • Exchange
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • Licensing
  • Active Directory
  • Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Android and iOS devices
  • Printers/Scanners
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • TCP/IP and Basic Networking
  • Familiarity with Active Directory management, GPO implementation, Microsoft Windows Server environments, and network security protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive attitude towards customer service; able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of help desk best practices along with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and exceptional customer service via phone, email, chat (Thread)
  • Review and manage assigned support cases each day, ensuring all cases are up to date, actively responded to, and progressing toward a resolution
  • Supports and assists with the operation and management of the Datotel IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Manage computer hardware components, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals, performing upgrades and repairs as needed.
  • Assist with Active Directory management for user account provisioning, permissions, GPO (Group Policy Object) application, and password resets.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure components like Microsoft Windows Server environments and Cisco Meraki networking equipment to ensure stability and security.
  • Support the deployment and management of endpoint security solutions
  • Contribute to documentation efforts by updating knowledge bases with troubleshooting steps and best practices for future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users by translating technical language into clear instructions while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Work closely with other departments/customers collaborating with other IT staff for requirements gathering and cross-functional tasks and issues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000 - $60,000

Expected hours: 40 per week
