Lumin Folsom Mitsubishi is seeking an experienced and results driven Service Manager to lead our service operations and support continued growth within our dealership.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a high performing Mitsubishi franchise dealership in Northern California, supported by strong brand standards, a growing customer base, and significant long term growth potential. The Service Manager will play a critical role in shaping operational performance, customer satisfaction, and team development.

About the Role

The Service Manager is responsible for leading all service department functions while ensuring alignment with Mitsubishi brand standards and OEM requirements. This position oversees service operations, facility compliance, and OEM relationships and provides leadership to a team of up to 20 associates.

This role requires a strong operational leader with the ability to balance customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial performance in a highly competitive Northern California automotive market.

Key Responsibilities

Service Operations Leadership

  • Direct all aspects of dealership service operations to achieve revenue, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor and review performance metrics including CSI, repair order volume, gross profit, and technician productivity.
  • Develop and execute structured action plans to address performance gaps and support sustained results.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operating standards, including standardized work practices, safety protocols, and workplace organization.
  • Partner with the Parts Manager to improve workflow efficiency, reduce cycle times, and optimize service and parts throughput.
  • Oversee warranty administration to ensure compliance with Lumin Folsom Mitsubishi policies and maximize recovery.
  • Continuously enhance the customer experience by improving service turnaround time, repair accuracy, and first visit resolution.

Facility Management, Safety, and Compliance

  • Maintain service facilities to meet Lumin Folsom Mitsubishi image standards, California regulations, and local environmental and safety requirements.
  • Manage external service vendors, including paint, body, and detailing partners, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards, OSHA compliance, and loss prevention measures to protect employees, customers, and dealership assets.

OEM and Brand Alignment

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Mitsubishi service and field representatives.
  • Ensure dealership compliance with OEM warranty policies, recall execution, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Lead preparation for OEM audits and facility inspections and drive timely resolution of findings.
  • Build collaborative relationships with OEM field teams to support operational performance and dealership success.

People Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high performing service professionals in a competitive Northern California labor market.
  • Maintain a strong succession pipeline for key service leadership and technical roles.
  • Oversee training, certification, and career development programs aligned with OEM standards and dealership needs.
  • Provide clear performance expectations, ongoing coaching, and formal evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement that reflects Lumin Folsom Mitsubishi values.

Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, cost structure, and customer satisfaction across fixed operations.
  • Lead structured improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Hold teams accountable for measurable and sustainable operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of management experience in automotive service operations or a structured production environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain high performing teams in a high demand market.
  • Proven success delivering results against key performance indicators and operational objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with Toyota Production System concepts is preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, analytical capability, and decision making skills.
  • Proficient in dealership systems and standard business software.

Additional Requirements

To successfully perform the responsibilities of this role, candidates must be able to meet the following requirements. These standards reflect the operational, safety, and regulatory expectations of Lumin Folsom Mitsubishi.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English in a professional workplace environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with dealership insurance and risk management guidelines, including no more than two moving violations or any driving under the influence convictions within the past three years.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wet, humid, and dry conditions.
  • Ability to properly use required personal protective equipment to reduce exposure to hazardous materials and to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as required to support business needs, special programs, or OEM initiatives.
  • Ability to alternate between standing and sitting for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to walk up to three miles per day across dealership facilities.
