Service Technician

Job Overview
Perfection Electric, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Service Technician to join our growing team. This position involves performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for both residential and commercial customers throughout the Sacramento area. This position provides and hourly rate and 10% commission on net profit.

At the beginning, this role will also include assisting our field crews on active construction and tenant improvement projects while the service department continues to expand. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for residential and commercial customers.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving wiring, outlets, lighting, breakers, and service panels.
• Complete small installations such as EV chargers, dedicated circuits, lighting upgrades, and minor remodel work.
• Support construction and tenant improvement projects as needed, including conduit installation, rough wiring, terminations, and final trim-out.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and general contractors to explain work performed and provide recommendations.
• Maintain detailed job documentation using Housecall Pro or company-approved software.
• Estimate utilizing Housecall Pro and close deals.
• Ensure all work meets California Electrical Code and company quality standards.
• Adhere to safety policies and use proper PPE at all times.
• Keep company vehicle, tools, and materials clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Coordinate with supervisors and estimators on material needs, change orders, and job progress.
• Represent the company with a positive, professional attitude on every job site.

Requirements

• Valid California State Electrician Certification (General or Residential).
• Minimum 3–5 years of electrical experience in residential and/or commercial environments.
• Strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and California Building Codes.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, diagnose issues, and make accurate repairs.
• Experience performing panel upgrades, lighting installs, EV chargers, and small tenant improvements.
• Must be able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Comfortable working independently on service calls and collaboratively on construction sites.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work safely on ladders, lifts, and rooftops.
• Basic hand and power tools required (company provides specialty tools and equipment).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $42.00 per hour
