Role Overview

The Service Battery & Motor Technician is responsible for on-site field servicing, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of electric vehicle battery systems and motors. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, customer engagement skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Service & Maintenance

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of EV battery systems and motor units.
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and software.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance checks on battery packs, motor assemblies, and related electrical components.
  • Replace faulty parts such as battery cells, BMS units, motor controllers, and sensors.

2. Installation & Calibration

  • Assist in installation, setup, and calibration of battery packs and motor systems for new EV deployments.
  • Ensure correct wiring, connections, torque settings, and safety compliance.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Record service activities, part replacements, and job completion details accurately.
  • Generate service reports and update maintenance logs on time.
  • Communicate service status and findings to supervisors.

4. Customer Interaction

  • Engage professionally with customers during service visits.
  • Explain technical issues and solutions in a simple, customer-friendly way.
  • Provide basic guidance on battery and motor care and safety practices.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while handling high-voltage battery packs and motor systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and field safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and service vehicle.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or ITI in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automotive or similar technical field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in EV battery and motor servicing (field work preferred).
  • Experience with high-voltage battery systems, BMS (Battery Management System), DC motors, and controllers.
  • Skills:
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Proficient in use of testing tools (multimeter, clamp meter, battery analyzers).
  • Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift and carry equipment (battery components, tools) safely.
  • Comfortable with field travel and outdoor work.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience with EV service networks or fleet management.
  • Certification in EV battery safety or motor diagnostics.
  • Basic knowledge of CAN communication and EV telematics.

Work Conditions

  • Field-based role with frequent travel across Mumbai & nearby regions.
  • Must be willing to work on weekends / extended field hours based on service demand.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
