Service Technician

Overview

Elite Doors, a premier garage and overhead door company based in Wasilla, is looking for a skilled and motivated Garage Door Service Technician to join our growing team. We serve residential and commercial clients across the entire state of Alaska, providing high-quality sales, expert installation, and reliable service. As a family-owned business established in 2024, we prioritize trust, quality, and strong community relationships. We are known for our industry-leading quality as well as our efficiency, typically maintaining lead times of just 1-2 weeks

Responsibilities

• Service & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems for residential garage doors, commercial operators, and sectional overhead doors.
• Installation: Lead the installation of new door operators and sometimes assist with the installation of full sectional overhead door systems.
• Emergency Service: Provide urgent technical assistance and repairs for overhead doors to ensure client security and facility uptime.
• Maintenance & Diagnostics: Perform preventative maintenance and comprehensive diagnostics on sectional overhead door, operators and related equipment.
• Field Operations: Operate and maintain specialized field equipment, including scissor lifts, manlifts, power tools, and ladders, while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Documentation & Analysis: Conduct system performance analysis, accurately identify issues, and document all work performed in the field.
• Client Collaboration: Support field service operations by traveling to client sites statewide. Collaborate with clients and our technical sales team to recommend upgrades that enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with power tools and hand tools is required; basic carpentry or construction experience is highly recommended.
• Equipment Experience: Experience operating field service equipment (scissor lifts, manlifts, etc.) is preferred.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical/electrical issues efficiently.
• Communication: Strong customer service orientation with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients or team members in English.
• Independence: Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and manage time effectively to meet our 10-day lead time standards.
• Reliability: Must be willing to travel for on-site repairs across Alaska as needed.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
